Updates: Edgelanders Audiobook, Sorrow’s Peak & Morovio

edgelanders audiobook

edgelanders audiobookJust a quick update to let you all know the Edgelanders Audiobook has passed audio inspection and is now headed to retail. It will likely be another week or two before it’s actually for sale, but keep your eyes on the site. I’ll be throwing all kinds of confetti in the air when it goes live. It really sounds great and I can’t wait to share it. I know I’ve said this before, but Veronica did a fantastic job bringing my imaginary friends to life.

I had hoped to have Sorrow’s Peak ready to go by this point, but during my last round of edits I came across a few weak spots that need some vitamins, possibly a shot of steroids. Know I am working through them and will have During my last round of edits on Sorrow’s Peak I came across a few weak spots and I’m strengthening those now.

I am also consulting with a professional on some cover issues as well, so hopefully I will have a shiny new cover to reveal very soon.

That’s about all I’ve got at the moment. I’ve been swamped with inspiration these last few weeks. I wrote an entire first draft of a fanfiction novel between edits and rewrites, have been staring luridly at Morovio and trying to figure out why he’s been so testy with me whenever I take him out of his Scrivener document to torment him and working with clients.

There will be new things coming. Oh yes, there will. Thanks for being so patient with me. I’m going to try to be more vocal over here. I know I get quiet sometimes, but usually it’s because I’m noodling and trying to work through something I’m not quite ready to share just yet.

Morovio Needs Your Help!

Morovio Rusted Memory Cover

Morovio Rusted Memory CoverLast month I set up The Wanderer’s Tale: Rusted Memory all across bookstores. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple, Kobo, Smashwords… It is free through all of those stores except for Amazon, and I’d be ever so grateful if you could help me set it free there as well.

What do you have to do?

It’s easy. Bounce over to the page for Rusted Memory on Amazon, scroll down to the “Product Details” and near the bottom of that section you will see a link that reads: tell us about a lower price. Click that link and a little box pops up asking you to list the lower price. Add a zero to the price box and the shipping price box. Beneath that there is a place where you can link to the lower priced item in another online store. Add one of these links:

Barnes & Noble

Apple

Once they have enough people pointing them in the free direction, they will slash the price and it will be free on Amazon as well!

I appreciate any and all help you can offer in this matter. It has been my intention for The Wanderer’s Tale to be free here on the site, and I want the first story in the series to be free on virtual bookshelves as well.

You can also help by leaving a review on Rusted Memory and letting people know you enjoyed the story! Reviews help us as authors more than you could even imagine, often encouraging a reader who might not be familiar with our work to give it a chance.

Sorrow’s Peak Update

Coming Soon Cover

I am about a quarter of the way through edits and rewrites on Sorrow’s Peak, the second book in the Serpent of Time series. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s any closer to being ready, only that progress is being made.

I’ve been working a lot, writing a lot of fanfiction–which is an easier commitment because it doesn’t take near as much time or effort since the world is already pretty well established–and avoiding finishing Lady of the Lake by Andrzej Sapkowski because I honestly don’t know if my fragile feelings can handle the end of those books.

My hope is to have this round of edits finished in the next two weeks, and once it is, I’d like to start planning the cover reveal and get the release date set.

So to those of you who are patiently waiting for Sorrow’s Peak, thank you for being patient and know it is coming! If you haven’t had a chance to check out Edgelanders yet, now would be an excellent time. I’d also be forever grateful if you told all your friends and their friends and the friends of friends about it if you read and enjoyed it.

And, of course, you can always adventure with the cursed, immortal bard Morovio, whose story is always free and available right here on my site! I hope to have the new Wanderer’s Tale story ready to share very soon!

Now, I suppose I should get back to work. These edits aren’t going to do themselves.

Rusted Memory Special Edition for Sale

Morovio Rusted Memory Cover

Morovio Rusted Memory CoverFor those of you who’ve been wandering with Morovio I wanted to let you know that The Wanderer’s Tale: Rusted Memory is officially for sale for $.99, with the final chapter and a poem to finish things off.

This drops a few days earlier than the usual Wednesday release here on the site and it comes with a special bonus. That’s right, it comes with an exclusive first look at the second story that will follow in the series, Things Worse Than Death. The entire first chapter of that story is included for your reading pleasure, so you can get a jump on Morovio’s next adventure a couple weeks early.

You can find it for sale on Amazon and Smashwords, and like I said above it’s only $.99. Eventually it’ll be free everywhere, even on Amazon, but if you don’t want to wait or there’s no extra money in your budget for a short ebook right now, don’t sweat it! There will always be a free version of this story available for the time being. Chapters will arrive here on the site on Wednesdays. You just might have to wait a little longer for the first chapter of Things Worse Than Death to drop on the site, as I don’t want to start posting it regularly until the final word has been written (and I’m very close, but there may be a week or two between the beginning of Things Worse Than Death and Rusted Memory.)

If you’ve been reading The Wanderer’s Tale and enjoying it, I hope you’ll tell a friend about it and encourage them to subscribe here on the site so they don’t miss a single update.

Stuff and Things and Things and Stuff

stuff and things

I have been slacking on the blog posts over here since last week, I know. The truth is I’ve been really busy writing and sharing some fanfiction on my other site this last week.

After finishing Sorrow’s Peak, which is now safely tucked away until I’m ready to dive back in and start tearing it apart, I wanted to keep writing but on a slightly lighter level. As it turns out, I can turn out fanfiction like nobody’s business. From Thursday through Monday I wrote a grand total of about 35,000 words. I started and finished a little novella in The Witcher universe, finished one of my Skyrim novellas and made progress on another Skyrim piece I hadn’t touched since last summer. It felt pretty good to keep writing on a lighter note, and by the time March said it’s final farewell, I’d put in a total of 102,690 words for the month.

All in all, it was a grand and productive few days, and this year has been great for getting things done. From January 1 through March 31, I wrote 259,556 words. that’s practically a George R.R. Martin novel in just three months. Some of it was fanfiction, most of it was not, and I’m really proud of myself. I’ve stayed committed, set reasonable goals and managed to surpass them each month. I kept writing even on the days I really didn’t want to look at a single word

Now, however, it’s time to get back down to business. I have some really exciting things coming up  over the next few weeks, including an announcement about The Wanderer’s Tale, the cover reveal for Sorrow’s Peak and a few other nifty little tidbits I can’t wait to share.

The day has just begun, and I have a lot of work to do today. I hope wherever you are, you’re doing exactly what you want to do.
