I knew going into Dragon Age Inquisition I was as good as lost. I’ve been waiting for so long to return to Thedas and do new things, and now that I’ve been back I don’t want to do anything else but spend time there. I gave myself a week’s vacation, since I didn’t have a vacation this year, and I just spent that time traipsing through Ferelden and Orlais, being a hero.

That’s one of the things I love about gaming. The stories, when done right, are so intense, and Bioware does storytelling better than anyone else. I’ve played through and finished one game as a human rogue, and I’m about 2/3 of the way through my play as a Dalish mage. I’m already planning how I’ll play my next game, it’s that good. but I know I have to return to the ground and get work done now that I’m back. Work, then play. That’s how it works when vacation is over.

ScreenshotWin32_0165_FinalI highly doubt I’m going to make my 100K goal for the month, stranger things have been known to happen. The fact that I did write 50,000 words before the halfway mark on the month was a good thing, but that book is nowhere near being finished. I need to rekindle my inspiration on that story, which is so far removed from the epic fantasy desire Dragon Age stoked inside me it will be no easy task.

The thing is, I believe in the urban fantasy book I started at the beginning of November, and it must be finished. So I will be focusing on that, while planning Serpent of Time book 3 to start in mid-December. I can’t wait to get back to Vennakrand. I miss Finn and Lorelei so much, it’s not even funny. And lately Finn’s been poking and prodding at me, which means he’s going to start rampaging if I don’t let him talk. He’s such a spoiled baby.

Now, I guess I should get back to it so I can play. All work and no play… you know the saying.
